Founder & Executive Bios
Your professional bio is often the first encounter a VC, partner company, or even customer has with you and your brand. Don’t let it be boring! I’ve helped founders and execs of all backgrounds—from lawyers to DTC founders—tell their stories in long, short, and micro formats.
Ingrid Read, Founder, Working Momkind (Long version)
“Ingrid Read is mom to an energetic toddler boy, a career professional, a postpartum doula, and the solo founder of Working Momkind.
As a young girl, Ingrid watched her mother and grandmother juggle full-time work and home management under Mexican culture’s pressure on women to do it all. To ensure life was different for herself in the U.S., Ingrid was intentional about her education, marriage partner, and career goals.
Ingrid learned English as a second language in middle school, quickly catching up to her peers. She went on to earn her Business degree at Texas A&M University and climbed the corporate sales ladder before pursuing her entrepreneurial calling for Working Momkind.
Despite her successes, Ingrid is frustrated with the gap overlooked founders face, especially in the Latina community. This drives her to be a transparent leader and create better resources for Working Momkind.
“When you’re building your own table, make sure you have a lot of extra chairs.” - Ingrid Read
Moms of all cultural backgrounds know being a working parent isn’t easy. After seeing how many of Working Momkind’s community members struggle emotionally after becoming parents, Ingrid decided to get a postpartum doula certification to provide extra support for moms.
When she’s not reading comments from community members, Ingrid loves exploring the New York Metropolitan area with her husband and son.”
